The main hallway is 31’ by 5’ (an 11’ ceiling), with the area under the central staircase measuring 8’ x 8’.

Other Hallways & Stairwell

     

Most of these other hallways are 22 ½’ by 4 ½’, with ceilings of 9 ½’ or 10’.

Butler's Pantry - Wet Bar

The butler’s pantry—wet bar is 10’ by 6’ with a door to living room #1. It features the original oak paneling and cabinets, white carrera marble sink, and dumbwaiter.

Kitchen 2

Kitchen #2 is 13’ by 5’ (northern light, 9 ½ ft. ceiling).

Basement

The basement is 56’ by 18’, an unfinished open space with a 9’ ceiling. It contains a laundry area, a ping pong table, and offers much storage space doing shoots. The original stone walls are made up of Manhattan schist, the bedrock on which this island is built.

Fireplaces

     
The townhouse has 9 fireplaces in total.  The ones in the master bedroom and living room #2/library work with gas.  The mantles containing maps can easily be replaced with mirrors, or a non-reflective material.
